5 Jogging Places in Manila

Whether you’re a seasoned runner or a beginner wanting to increase your stamina, Manila offers a variety of jogging places to suit your needs. Here is a list of the top jogging spots in the city where you can enjoy a refreshing run while taking in the sights and sounds of the metro.

1. Rizal Park Loop, Manila

Commonly known as Luneta, Rizal Park is an iconic and historically significant destination in the heart of Metro Manila. It’s also an excellent place for jogging, as it offers a scenic 2-kilometer loop 24/7, a significant advantage if you prefer early morning or late evening runs. You can head to the U.S. Embassy and jog along Manila Bay Walk for an extended run.

The park is also near numerous landmarks and attractions like the Rizal Monument, the National Museum of Natural History and other museums, and the beautiful Manila Bay—all providing a picturesque backdrop to your jog.

Rizal Park is a convenient place to jog if you choose to live in Four Season Riviera, a pre-selling condo in Binondo, Manila. This residential space is only 2.2 kilometers away from the park. If it’s too far to walk, you can drive or ride your bike and park beside the National Historical Commission of the Philippines or at SM Manila.

2. Marikina Sports Center, Marikina

On the eastern border of Metro Manila, the Marikina Sports Center features a 400-meter oval track. The site has a dedicated and well-maintained space to encourage short sprints or extended runs in a secure environment.

It also features various sports facilities for swimming, basketball, badminton, tennis, volleyball, and football with corresponding schedules and rates. The Marikina Sports Center is open to the public from 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM daily unless otherwise stated on its Facebook page. It also has an entrance fee of ₱10. Plus, it’s conveniently close to Siena Towers, a pre-selling condo at the intersection of Toyota Avenue and Marquinton Drive. A modern reflection of Siena, Italy, this property harmonizes charm and excitement in a relaxed neighborhood.

If you can’t or don’t want to head to the Marikina Sports Center, you can run along Siena Towers’ built-in jogging path. Alternatively, you can catch up with friends over a meal at the trellised al fresco dining area or stroll along landscaped gardens. Siena Towers also offers 24/7 building security, an automatic fire suppression system, and a standby power generator for a comfortable and secure lifestyle.

3. UP Oval Trail, Quezon City

Nestled within the University of the Philippines Diliman campus, the UP Oval is a jogging haven and a symbol of academic excellence and cultural significance. It forms a 2.3-kilometer loop that circles the UP Lagoon and UP Sunken Garden. You can jog on the trail anytime but enjoy it more on Sundays when UP closes Roxas Avenue and Osmeña Avenue.

You can enter the university from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Aside from jogging, you can bike along the oval, enjoy a picnic with your friends at the Sunken Garden, or eat at the campus food stalls.

4. Track 30th, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig

If you work or live in or near Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig, Track 30th is an ideal location for your fitness needs. With a paved jogging path of about 300 meters, Track 30th runs along part of the eponymous 30th Street. The park also features a yoga and exercise lawn and a meditation garden for stationary workouts.

Track 30th is open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. It’s also a 13-minute walk from The Seasons Residences, a pre-selling condo incorporating Japanese architecture and innovations. Come home to comfort and style after a productive workout.

5. Capitol Commons, Ortigas Center, Pasig

If you live or work in Ortigas Center’s vicinity, jogging is very accessible at Capitol Commons. It’s a 10-hectare mixed-use development along Meralco Avenue and the corner of Shaw Boulevard.

The park at Capitol Commons boasts a 300-meter trail for invigorating jogs, brisk sprints, and even group core exercises. The 500-meter main road is perfect for a more extensive run if you want a lengthier route. An additional perk of jogging in this area is that it can be your one-stop shop for anything. You can grab a hearty meal from any restaurant at the adjacent Estancia mall, grab a coffee with your friends at Starbucks Reserve, or buy groceries at Unimart.

Just a 7-minute walk from Ortigas Park, you’ll also find The Grand Midori Ortigas. Living in this strategic location ensures your daily dose of exercise is always within reach.
